Kite Making

During Matariki week in Room 14 we read the story The Seven Kites of Matariki. This inspired a group of students to investigate making kites. We provided the students with a variety of materials in the centre of the table and they chose what they thought would be a suitable material and design for their very own kite. It was great to hear the amazing vocabulary used by all the students and how they followed a design process to create their final design. When finished it was great to see the students go outside and test their kite before coming in to make a adjustments from what had happened.
