We have been enjoying watching some Olympics in class and celebrating New Zealand's gold and silver medals.
Today we dreamed about being Olympians in our favourite sports. We had to make a background using gold and silver tissue paper. It was hard work and great exercise for our fine motor skills. We then had to write and draw about our favourite sports.
Here are some of our pictures.
Come into Room 14 to check them all out.
We think we have some future Olympians in our class.
We have also been enjoying Investigation times as usual.
We have done some Olympic investigating including setting up our own Olympic medal charts and measuring our own long jump competition.
We have also had fun exploring and investigating in other areas. Here are a few of the Investigations our focus students have been doing this week.
Measurement fun
Party planning
Planning and making a train.
A counting, reading and checking investigation into our star of the day box.
A final highlight of our week was a visit from a very special guest.
Niamh brought her rabbit Twinkle Rose in to meet the children in Room 14.
Everyone was very kind and thoughtful and we learned a lot of things about looking after a rabbit.
Thanks so much Niamh.
What a busy week Room 14! I am especially impressed with all your measuring.
